
Rotate Axis Belt Drive
Challenge:
Robots overloaded with larger pickup tooling lost position accuracy, suffered stepper motor failures, and lacked fine rotational control.
Solution:
Designed and installed a 20:1 belt reduction drive system with dual synchronized stepper motors, multiplying torque and resolution.
Result:
Increased from 3,600 to 72,000 programmable positions with sub-degree rotational precision. Production capacity doubled.
