The Wittmann Thumper

Challenge:
Robotic pipette tip loading jammed frequently; needed constant human intervention to manually fix jams.

Solution:
Built a custom pneumatic “thumper” and later an air-cannon system to automatically dislodge jammed parts.

Result:
Robot operated full shifts unattended; only occasional jams remained.
